The Switch's New Mario Game Is Called Super Mario Odyssey

During the Nintendo Switch presentation, the publisher showed off a trailer for an upcoming Mario game called Super Mario Odyssey. The footage showcased a variety of environments, from the colorful vibrant worlds you would associate with Mario as well as more realistic settings, like a modern cityscape. 

Nintendo said that this game would be more sandbox-focused than previous titles and that a unnamed secondary character, Mario's cap with googly eyes attached, would play an important role in his journey through SMO.

The game is set to be released "holiday season" 2017.
