Gronk Crushes Madden NFL 17 Cover, First Trailer

EA is billing Patriots' superstar Rob Gronkowski as Madden's first-ever tight end cover athlete, but we all know that Gronk isn't defined by his position – he's simply an all-around game-changing stud.

While there have been times when EA Sports has aligned its cover star with specific features for that particular game, regardless of how tight ends end up playing in Madden 17, the fact is that Gronk is simply an electrifying superstar that deserves to be on the cover both for what he can do on the field and his personality.

Earlier, the official Xbox online store appeared to leak details about the game, including a focus on the series' Franchise mode. That proved to be true, as the official website lists recommitment to the ground game, franchise mode depth, a "new perspective," and daily content updates.

Madden NFL 17 comes out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 23.
