RollerCoaster Tycoon World Gets Early Access Release Date

The RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise is returning for the first time in over ten years. The new entry in the series, entitled RollerCoaster Tycoon World, will be coming to Steam Early Access on March 30.

Out of the gate, RollerCoaster Tycoon World will allow players to create custom rides, manage their park,  and share user-generated content. Atari intends to "update, optimize, and incorporate additional features" throughout the game's tenure in Early Access.

Some features that are planned to be added later include Dark Rides, Transport Rides, and piece-by-piece custom-built structures. RollerCoaster Tycoon World will rely partly on the community and their in-game creations to refine itself between now and the full release.

Our Take
RollerCoaster Tycoon World isn't the only coaster simulator that's coming out this year. It will have to contend with Planet Coaster from Frontier Developments, the studio that developed the last title in the series, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. It will be interesting to see how the two theme-park management sims stack up later this year.
