Oddworld Inhabitants Details Abe's Exoddus Remake

After Oddworld Inhabitants first teased the project nearly a year ago, a remake of Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus has been confirmed. The remake is entitled Oddworld: Soulstorm and is being co-developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and Frima Studios.

Work on the game began after the success of Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, and will include "a fresh narrative, a big visual and cinematic leap and intelligent new mechanics." Soulstorm will directly follow the events of New 'n' Tasty, retelling the tale of Abe's adventures with the 300 Mudokons as they cross the desert to escape their corporate persecutors. 

According to series creator Lorne Lanning, Soulstorm will be "the deeper, darker and more sinister story that we never got to tell." Platforms have not yet been announced, but the game is slated for release in late 2017.
