Gears Of War: Ultimate Edition Unexpectedly Released For Windows 10
The last thing we knew is that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was headed to PC sometime this spring. The flowers aren’t blooming yet, but the lancers are revving.
Microsoft has released the Windows 10 version as a surprise today. The game is available only via the Windows app store, as it is built on DirectX 12.
The $29.99 release supports 4K displays. Recommended requirements include an Intel i7 @ 4 GHz or an 8-core AMD chip, GTX 980 Ti or Radeon R9 390X, 8 GB RAM, and 60 GB of hard drive space.

Our Take
Gears Ultimate was great on Xbox One (our review). If the PC port is sound, I’m interested to see how it looks cranking on a high-spec machine. My only confusion is the decision to release the game stealthily, buried amidst dozens of stories about other, newer games.
