Weekend Playing: Dungeon Defenders II
Dungeon Defenders II quietly moved from early-access to a free-to-play "open alpha" on Steam (this term is a bit odd, there are no planned wipes or anything so this is pretty much a launch) this week, and as a huge fan of the first game I'm looking forward to diving into the sequel. The game has been a long time coming with many, many changes over the years (I recall that this was actually a MOBA at one point), but the released version appears to be doubling down on the aspects that made the first game a hit - loot and towers. Lots of both.
The combination of Diablo-style loot, leveling, and big bosses to farm with friends always worked for me with the original game, so I'm excited to check out Trendy Entertainment's follow-up this weekend and see if the magic is still there.
