Activision Reports 70 Million Players, $1.25 Billion Revenue For Three Games-As-Service Titles
Destiny and Blizzard's new era of games are proving to be wildly successful for Activision.
During today's earning report, Activision reported that Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, and Destiny have combined for $1.2 billion in revenue over the life of the products to date for the publisher, with a 70-million player pool across the three games. The numbers indicate a significant player base as Activision expands its games as service offerings.
Our Take
Putting Call of Duty, Skylanders, and Blizzard's traditional lineup aside, these numbers are quite impressive and signal a strong future as Bungie ramps up to The Taken King and Blizzard prepares Overwatch, Hearthstone: The Grand Tournament, and Eternal Conflict, a Heroes of the Storm expansion focused on the Diablo universe.
