Reader Discussion: What's Your Favorite Fighting Game?

With EVO happening this weekend it sparks a fighting game discussion. What's your favorite fighting game or series?

I have never gotten too deep into the genre myself, but Dead or Alive 4 hit at a perfect time for me. I had a 360 early in the console's life in a dorm room without too many games. Dead or Alive 4 was the only fighting game available for the shiny new console and it ended up being a hit among all of my neighbors. I have also sunk a lot of time in Super Smash Bros., whose title as a true fighting game is often up for debate.
