Weekend Warrior 3/13/2015

by Jon Gregory on Mar 13, 2015 at 02:00 PM

This week, Ori and the Blind Forest captures hearts, while Helldivers and Monster Hunter suck in a masochistic Tim Turi. What are you all playing this week?

Tim Turi (@timturi): This weekend I’ll have more time to dive into games than I’ve had for quite a while. My plan tonight is to boot up some local co-op Helldivers for some masochistic missions with friends. After that I want to jump back into Dying Light, White Night, and Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Wow, that’s actually a lot of horror now that I look at it. Oh, and I’d like to play some MH4U not that’s I’ve finally downloaded the bonus pack that makes your Palicoes look like Mario or Luigi.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty): This weekend I'm most likely going to play some more Ori and the Blind Forest and tonight I'm looking to start Cities: Skylines. I've never been a die-hard SimCity fan, but I'm one of those rare creatures that really appreciated a lot about SimCity 2013 so I'm curious if my affection for that game will transfer over to Cities: Skylines. The only thing I know for sure is that I'm going to be playing SimCity 2013's amazing soundtrack underneath Cities. Other than that, I'll continue to blast my way through Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. And if you think that game has the worst title of all time, first of all you're right, but try typing it out sometime. Nintendo, you're blowing it. Have a good weekend!

Laleh Tobin (@LalehAzarshin): Finally unlocked G -Rank hunts in MH4U's online multiplayer, so I'm excited to frantically run away from some super tough monsters alongside all my friends!

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard): As I'm sure most of the staff is, I'm having a great time with Ori and the Blind Forest. That's where I'm sure most if not all of my gaming time will be focused. I also plan on going outside because the weather in Minnesota has suddenly turned lovely.

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea): I’ll be continuing my playthroughs of Majora’s Mask 3D and Ori and the Blind Forest. I’d also like to tackle a game I’ve been meaning to play for a long time, but just never got around to: Revengeance. In between that, I’ll probably be playing a few rounds of You Don’t Know Jack on my Xbox 360 and wishing I picked up the DLC while it was still available.

Elise Favis (@elisefavis): I went back to Bioshock: Infinite last night to play Burial At Sea, and it has been fantastic so far – wish I had played it sooner. Aside from that, I’m going to finish Valiant Hearts: A Great War. The game is incredibly atmospheric, which I love, but I’ve found the puzzles to be easier than I thought they’d be, as well as repetitive in their design. Still enjoying it though!

Justin Mikos (@JustinMikos): Today I’m picking up Code Name S.T.E.A.M. so I’m going to devote some serious time to that. I’ve also once again picked up my playthrough of Kingdom Hearts II HD Final Mix so I’m enjoying blasting through the game and challenging all the new super bosses. I’m also watching more anime and I need to choose a new one to watch on the side since I finished Working!! last week which was really fun. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Jon Gregory (@JMan240): I'll probably play more of Cities: Skylines this weekend, as well as the handful of games I saved from the GI dumpster. Most of them are bad, but they were free so I can't really complain. I might pick up a new 3DS game, but I have no idea what I would get or what's reasonably priced on that system.
