PSA: Destiny Patch Is Live, Introduces Bug That Impacts Vex Mythoclast Exotic
Update: The Destiny update is live and your heavy ammo is now safe between cutscenes and respawns. Unfortunately, the patch notes include a brand new bug. This is not a joke.
The Vex Mythoclast now spawns with less ammo than it should in PvP. Apparently, this is because it's a fusion rifle (normally a secondary weapon), but is equipped in the primary spot. In Crucible (PvP), players spawn with a small amount of ammunition for secondary weapons. Bungie says that this will be addressed in a future patch.
Original Story:
Bungie has just announced that patch 1.1.1 is on its way momentarily. Anyone playing will be kicked from activities and be forced to download the update.
The patch fixes the long-standing heavy ammo bug that has plagued the game since launch. It will also implement weapon balancing that increases the utility of pulse rifles and tweaks range, damage falloff, and other stats for a number of classes.
The patch will also put in place matchmaking for weekly heroic strikes, though Nightfall strikes and raids will not be getting the feature. For more on the patch, check out our previous coverage. In other Destiny news, we've been tracking a strange story that serves as a cautionary tale about protecting your data.
