At Game Awards 2014, players got a fresh look at 2015's Mario Maker, which showcased materials from Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, and Super Mario Bros. U.

Creating stages from these newly announced games with new tools should make things quite interesting when the title launches next year.
