Sega Announces Total War: Rome II – Emperor Edition
Sega and Creative Assembly are giving the 2013 strategy title a definitive second release, complete with a new campaign pack and other under-the-hood improvements.
According to the press release, Emperor Edition comes with Imperator Augustus, a new campaign pack expansion that has players settling a civil war between would-be emperors Octavian, Marc Antony, and Lepidus. This edition also features improvements to the politics, building, and battles.
If you already own Total War: Rome II, you can look forward to getting all of these Emperor Edition perks for free via automatic update in September.
Our Take:
Total War: Rome II isn't the best game in the series, but it is still a fun strategy experience (read our review here). Giving it to current players for free is a great gesture, and it continues Creative Assemby's pattern of adding extra content to the game without charging.
