PlayStation 4 System Software 2.0 Lets You Share Games Without Your Friends Owning Them
Sony's long promised game sharing will finally be live later this year. Starting in autumn, PlayStation Plus members will be able to virtually pass the controller or invite friends into their games cooperatively or competitively. While that might seem like something the PS4 already allows, there's something different about Share Play.
Your friends don't need to own the games you share with them. They also won't need to download them, which hints that the PlayStation Now architecture will be used for more than game rentals. PlayStation update 2.0 will also bring YouTube video uploading, a feature for which fans have been asking.
We'll hear more about System Software 2.0 and SharePlay closer to release.
