If you're an indie developer, now's the time to hit your game with that last bit of spit and shine; submissions for the Independent Games Festival 2015 are now open.

The IGF awards are, as per the title, a ceremony that honors and exemplifies the best video games in the independent space. The game that won top prize last year (the Seumas McNally award) was Papers, Please.

Other notable nominees from last year include The Stanley Parable, Don't Starve, The Banner Saga, and TowerFall Ascension. This year, those nominated will compete for a total of $50,000 in prizes with a whopping $30,000 going to the Seumas McNally winner.

Submissions for the main competition end on October 22 with the awards ceremony set to take place on March 6, 2015. Be sure to see the full list of winners from the 2013 and 2014 ceremonies.
