[Update] Bandai Namco Says Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul Trailers Are Fake
Update: A Bandai Namco representative has responded saying that the bizarre trailers below are unofficial fakes.
Original story:
Today Bandai Namco announced a new game by Project Soul in the Soulcalibur fighting game series coming for consoles and mobile devices. The confusingly vague trailer "shows off" Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul's adventure mode, which seems to feature ambiguous text without a clear purpose.
The brief video doesn't reveal what type of game Unbreakable Souls is. It could be a fighting game, RPG, or text adventure for all we know. The trailer simply features text and small thumbnails of characters' heads. These characters appear to be responding to opponent stats, spouting off non sequitur lines like "Time to die!", "Do not say anything", and "Where are they?". All we know for certain is that it's destined for 360, PS3, and mobile platforms. Check out the absurd trailers below:

This additional Unbreakable Soul trailer is similarly awful:

Bandai Namco says more information will becoming soon. Given the confounding nature of the above trailers found on the Soulcalibur Trailers YouTube channel, and the fact that they aren't on this Bandai Namco YouTube channel, we've reached out to Bandai Namco to confirm if these are official. This announcement follows yesterday's release of the free-to-play title Soulcalibur Lost Swords.
Our Take
Bandai Namco has released an official document announcing Unbreakable Soul, but I'm not familiar enough with the company's YouTube channel to determine whether this trailer is the real thing. The ambiguity and lack of overall quality has us wondering if it's a fan fraud. Hopefully Bandai Namco will not only confirm or deny it's authenticity, but also clear up the confusion with more information should this be legit.
