Gearbox And Academy Of Art University Team Up For Borderlands Animated Short

Back in March, we told you about a partnership between 2K Games, Gearbox, and Academy of Art University that would result in a special Borderlands project. Today we’re giving you your first look at an animated short that was born of the endeavor.

This animatic was created by storyboard artist and contest finalists Leslie Harwood, and it’s for a short called Bride of Frankentrap. This is one of three frameworks that will be turned into a short film in the Borderlands - Tales From The HQ series. Over 100 students created 14 different storyboards for consideration.

Our Take
The Borderlands universe is rich with unique characters and fun stories to be told. This cooperative endeavor is great outreach for 2K Games and Gearbox, and I’m excited to see the finished products.
