Nintendo Officially Reveals Wind Waker HD Wii U Bundle

Nintendo's flow of announcements today continues with the news that The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will indeed be bundled with the Wii U system.

The $299 limited edition bundle – which is a GameStop exclusive [Full disclosure: Game Informer is owned by GameStop] – can be pre-ordered now and is listed to release on September 20. The retail version of the game comes out on October 4. Earlier this week the bundle was rumored, and today we learned about the Wii U's new price and earlier release date (September 20) for the digital version of Wind Waker HD.

It includes a 32GB custom Wind Waker Wii U, a download version of the game, and a download for The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia – an exhaustive book about the franchise.

Our Take:
In the context of the Wii U's new $299 price, this is great news for anyone already on the cusp of getting the system since it means your basically getting the game for free.
