The 3DS XL is huge compared to the original. The circle pad pro accessory for it? Even bigger.
Nintendo's Japanese website updated with the first image of the add-on (pictured right) compared to the original 3DS version. No price or release date was mentioned, but it gives you an idea of what to expect.
