Metal Gear-Themed Snakeskin 3DS Coming To Japan

Hideo Kojima is one of the video game industry's most active twitter users. Most Kojima Productions news debuts on his feed, not to mention pictures of most of his meals. His latest Kojima Productions offering is a first look at a limited edition Snake Eater 3DS. As Kojima points out, this is the industry's first snakeskin pattern.

I made a pact with myself many moons ago that I would never wear anything snakeskin. Today I'm instituting a similar "no snakeskin" rule for my game systems.  I'm probably in the minority here, but I would rather have a cool Metal Gear illustration on a flat finish than this dead reptile look.

Kojima says that we can expect pricing and release date details for this handheld on January 20, which I imagine will come packaged with the game. Like most special edition systems, I doubt this Japanese release will make it stateside.
