Command & Conquer Goes Free-To-Play Online
If you were wondering what EA was up do with that C&C domain registration stuff, now you have your answer. Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances is a massively multiplayer online strategy game that you can play for free.
The game is developed by Phenomic, and will have cross-functionality between browsers and mobile devices. EA claims in a press release that it uses "live status streams and newsfeeds are updated in real time, forcing players to strategize, react, and adapt on the spot."
What EA doesn't explain is what exactly this means or how it works, but you can find out for yourself by signing up for the beta, which begins tomorrow.
