Activision Announces New Round Of Modern Warfare 3 Tweaks

If you've been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, chances are you've been killed by someone using a Type 95 assault rifle. A lot. Infinity Ward is aware of the gun's overpowered state, and plans to nerf this along with a few other outstanding issues via a new hot fix.

Today Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling tweeted to inform fans that a new suite of modifications is ready for release. Changes include:

  • Fire rate normalization for assault rifles with undermounts
  • FMG9 rebalancing (Nerf)
  • Akimbo FMG9 rebalancing (Nerf)
  • Fix for shotgun's with extended mags (Prevents them from shooting more pellets than intended)
  • Type 95 rebalancing (Nerf) - reduce hipspread
  • Fix for ACR with red dot/shotgun
  • Fix Type 95 bug related to dropping it
  • Fix map exploits on Dome

These changes are ready for release today. In addition, Bowling says the team is looking into the spawn system, lag compensation, an adjustable round start time for system link games, and allowing system link player to "unlock all" for competitive play for system link only.
