Weekend Warrior 11/4/11
Many of us have already gotten our hands on most of the big holiday games. How are you whiling away your time?
Tim Turi: I’ve been busy moving so I’ve had to put the games on hold for a bit. This weekend I should be able to get back to it though. I hope to finish up Rage, play some more Sly Cooper HD, and clean up any other games I haven’t finished. I’m holding off on Batman and Uncharted 3 because I don’t want those games to impede on Skyrim.
Jeff Cork: I’m still plugging away at Batman: Arkham City, but I’m nearly done with the story. Then I’m going to finally get online with Marchiafava and shoot his face off in Battlefield 3. Unless we’re on the same team, in which case I will shoot the back of his head off.
Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend I plan on logging more hours into Battlefield 3’s multiplayer. The UI for unlocking weapons and customizing your player seems counterintuitive to the point where I think it’s trying to force players to use Battlelog, but I have no complaints about the actual gameplay. This weekend I might also return to Arkham City and at least try to get through the storyline – if I don’t get distracted by all of the side missions and Riddler challenges.
Phil Kollar: After lamenting not having a copy of Skyrim last weekend, I was lucky enough to stumble across one this week. Obviously that absurdly huge game will take up most of my weekend. Throw in a few weeks to finally begin Uncharted 3, and it seems like this is going to be a successful lock-myself-up-and-play-video-games-nonstop weekend.
Ben Hanson: This weekend I will be cautiously dipping my toe into the waters of Uncharted 3. I’ve never been a big fan of the series, but I feel that I need to give this one a shot. Beyond that, I’m sure that I will continue playing Battlefield 3’s multiplayer. I’m playing on PS3 and I can’t find my headset, so it is a nice solitary experience in the middle of a war zone. I’m not a fan of shooters, but I’ve always made an exception for Battlefield. I hope other gamers out there aren’t ignoring this title thinking that it is too hardcore; it doesn’t take much skill to Dick around in vehicles and have a good time. On the backburner this weekend are Kirby’s Return to Dreamland, Orcs Must Die, and Perfect Dark XBLA…we’ll see if I get around to them.
