Weekend Warrior 10/28/11

by Phil Kollar on Oct 28, 2011 at 01:45 PM

The weekend is here at last! We'll be doing what we always do and playing video games. Join us?

Andy: I'll be spending my weekend (after watching game 7 of the World Series - Go Rangers!) playing Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. I think I'm about halfway through, so unless I watch too much football I should finish this weekend. Also, whenever I need a break, I will be loading up Pinball FX and playing the new (and free for a week) Paranormal table, which I played a couple of times on Thursday night and enjoyed quite a bit.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm going to seamlessly transition back and forth from Battlefield 3 to Kirby's Return to Dreamland. I was a massive fan of Kirby's Epic Yarn and am excited for another co-op adventure. Sometimes I forget how much Nintendo I will be ingesting this holiday season, but I'm really looking forward to this year's Kirby, Mario, and Zelda releases. Battlefield 3 continues to be a swell multiplayer experience; I'm laughing or screaming every five minutes. Good times.

Jeff M: After giving up on Battlefield 3's over-scripted, hand-holdy single-player campaign, I'm looking forward to putting more time into the awesome online multiplayer. If I need a break from constant warfare, I'll check out the new Paranormal table for Pinball FX 2, which you can still download for free.

Jeff C: Like a lot of other people, I'm dividing my weekend up between cleaning the streets of Arkham City and waging war on the Battlefield (3). My brother is in town, too, so we may play some Forza 4. He is a cretin and doesn't play games, but he can wrap his mind around a car/steering wheel.

Phil: Since I was off at Blizzcon last weekend, I'll be spending this Saturday and Sunday doing what everyone else did last week: mainlining Arkham City. I'm about 40% in to both the main story and sidequests after between 10 and 15 hours of play time, so it seems like I have plenty to do. If I can tear myself away from Batman long enough, I'll also be checking in on World of Warcraft. Hanging out at Blizzcon caused me to re-subscribe, and my abandoned level 85 mage seemed happy to see me. Oh, and I'll also probably spend some time hanging out in the bushes outside Reiner's house, staring in his window to catch glimpses of Skyrim.

Kyle: This weekend it's all about Batman as far as video games go. Arkham City isn't going to clean itself up. I also plan on eating at least four full meals over the course of the two days. Two of those meals may consist of the same type of food. There's no way of truly knowing, until the meals have taken place.

Matthew Kato: Like many of you, I'll be working my way through Batman: Arkham City in preparation for Skyrim coming out. It sounds clinical, but I'm trying to get in the habit of always having at least a half-an-hour or whatever set aside every day to play a game. It's simply the only way to get things off the list. I'll also be starting up the winter season in my real life hockey league, so hopefully we can start the season off right this weekend with one in the win column.

Matt Bertz: This weekend makes me wish I had one of those pills they give spec ops soldiers so they don't require sleep for a couple days.I'll be manning the news shift this weekend, staring longingly at my copies of Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, and Skyrim as I type away from my desk. Once night falls, I'll play game roulette between these three fantastic titles.

Reiner: Playing Skyrim. See you next year.
