Unreleased HAL Laboratory Ghostbusters II Game Surfaces
Some of you might be familiar with Activision's none-to-stellar Ghostbusters II for NES. However, it turns out there was a superior Ghostbusters II -- one that sadly never made it to America.
A prototype of a Ghostbusters II game developed by HAL Laboratories surfaced on the gaming forum Lost Levels. Apparently the game was released in Japan and Europe but never made it to the U.S., due either to licensing concerns or worries about competing with Activision's similar (but far worse) Ghostbusters II game.
According to GameSetWatch, future Nintendo head Satoru Iwata actually worked on HAL's Ghostbusters II. Looks like a solid old-school top-down game, watch for yourself below.
