Xbox 360 Sales Hit 57M Worldwide

Microsoft's latest financials revealed today the company has shipped 57.6 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide to date.

For the quarter ending September 30, 2011, Microsoft shipped 2.3 million units. And while that is a decrease from the 2.8 the company shipped in the same quarter last year, Microsoft actually grew Xbox 360 revenue by 7 percent due to increased revenues from Xbox Live.

Software revenue was down year-over-year due to the strong sales of Halo Reach the year prior.
