New Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Walkthrough Video Details Buddy System

Naughty Dog has made multiplayer a focus of its upcoming Uncharted 3, and one of the ways it hopes to foster teamwork among players is the games "buddy system." In this new trailer, Naughty Dog's Robert Cogburn breaks down how the mechanic works.

Here are the basics: you can either pick a buddy at the start of the match or be automatically assigned a buddy. When you die, you can choose to respawn at any spawn point or hit a button to respawn next to your buddy. Buddies that work together to grab treasure or kill opponents will be able to earn extra bonuses like medals and cash.

If you want to get in on the multiplayer early, head to any Subway location and buy a special edition 30 oz. soft drink in a Uncharted 3 cup. Each cup has a code that can be redeemed at the PlayStation Store for access to the game's competitive multiplayer experience. Sony has just added two new multiplayer maps this week. Uncharted 3 releases on November 1.
