Indie Hit VVVVVV Coming To 3DS eShop
Developer Terry Cavanagh is bringing his creation to the 3DS handheld with publishing partner Nicalis, known for its work with Cave Story, La-Mulana, and NIghtSky.
The original VVVVVV released on PC last year to much acclaim in indie circles. Players control Captain Viridian as he runs around Metroid-style 2D maps to rescue his missing crew. The core mechanic is the captain's ability to alternate between walking on the floor and ceiling.
“I’m VVVVVVery excited about it!" Cavanagh says in a statement. "This is the first time anything I’ve made has been on a console.”
The 3DS version will include 3D visuals, new featured levels, 20 collectibles, and promised future content updates. As you can see in the screen below, the bottom screen will display a real-time map. Look for it late this year on the 3DS eShop.
