Weekend Warrior 09/30/11
Another week is over, and another weekend is about to begin. Tell us what you have planed this weekend in the comments section.
Jeff Cork: I’m pulling the news shift this weekend, which means I’ll be glued to one screen or another over the next few days. I’ll probably sneak in a little Dead Island between stories, and I really need to get around to finishing Divinity 2. Then again, maybe it’s a good time to play some Forza 3 before the next one drops. Basically, I’m kind of biding my time until Rage comes out next week. Life is hard.
Tim Turi: This weekend I’ll be saving the world from the Chimera in Resistance 3, continuing my trek through the wastelands of Rage, eradicating the Las Plagas in Resident Evil 4 HD, and helping Isaac escape his insane mother in The Binding of Isaac.
Ben Hanson: I realized today that I have been too distracted in the last couple of weeks by things like friends and family, this weekend is devoted to my beautiful game collection. The first thing on my list is Rochard, an incredible 2D puzzle/platformer for PSN with a nice Metroid vibe to it. Portal-like box puzzles, cartoonish art style, and a John Carpenter-esque musical score: perfection. I’m looking forward to trying out The Binding of Isaac on Steam as well, it is from the co-creator of Super Meat Boy and it should be an interesting/punishing little adventure. Other games on my list include Space Marine, Age of Empires Online, Punch-Out for the Wii, LA Noire, and Ico. Wish me luck.
Jeff Marchifava: It’s been a long two weeks, so this weekend I plan to unwind with a light-hearted romp through Dark Souls. I hear the game is really fun, and not difficult or frustrating at all, so it will be just what the doctor ordered. I also want to play more of The Binding Of Isaac, which has been a lot of fun so far.
Kyle Hilliard: I'll be playing that game where you open boxes and take stuff out of them and put that stuff somewhere else. I think it's called Moving: The Game. I'll also make time somewhere to take out some Colossi, and maybe spend some quality time with Yorda. My wife is also requesting that I play Fruit Ninja Kinect with her, which I agreed to, but only if she plays The Gunstringer with me.
Phil Kollar: I started Rage this week and am enjoying that a lot, and I've also got to make some progress in White Knight Chronicles 2, but...let's be honest, Dark Souls is still consuming every waking moment of my thoughts, so I'll probably be playing that in preparation for the official release next week.
Bryan Vore: I'm in the middle of some serious Rage right now. It sounds like I'm getting very close to the second and final disc of the campaign on Xbox 360 (disc three is multiplayer). Continuing the tradition of playing most of the amazing Gameboy titles released on the 3DS, I plan on blasting through Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. So far, I'm loving those crazy rabbit ears that stand in for the raccoon tail.
Dan Ryckert: I think I'm gonna be heading to Lee's Liquor Lounge tonight to see a pretty sweet Electric Light Orchestra cover band named ELnO. There's also a Eagles cover band opening for them, but I think Tim's the only one actually excited for that (not a big Eagles fan, myself). Tomorrow will be the awesome bi-monthly Drinking Spelling Bee, and Sunday will be a final Gears of War 3 co-op campaign marathon followed by a presumably nerve-wracking episode of Breaking Bad. When spare time pops up, I'll be playing through Shadow of the Colossus HD.
