Sony Says Vita Battery Life Is Between 3 And 5 Hours
The general reception of Sony's PSVita has been largely positive so far in the press, but at TGS the company announced the handheld's battery life -- and the news isn't great.
According to Sony, the system's battery last for between three and five hours during regular gameplay. According to the Japanese gaming site Andriasang, this means "keeping the screen at factory setting, Bluetooth off, using headphones, and not using any network features."
The battery life for media usage is a bit better. The Vita battery will last for about five hours of video playback and nine hours of music playback. A complete charge of the battery will take about 2 and a half hours.
Frankly, it's a bit disappointing, especially in light of how much the 3DS was criticized for its short battery life.
