Rumor: Lionhead Working On Fable IV, Too
The poorly received Kinect exclusive Fable: The Journey may not be the only Albion-based fantasy game Peter Molyneux's Lionhead Studios is conjuring up in its England headquarters.
Many fans were turned off by the E3 debut of the on-rails looking Fable spin-off The Journey – even series creator Peter Molyneux seemed underwhelmed when presenting the game for the first time on stage. Perhaps his enthusiasm is reserved for another project. In the latest issue of OXM, the publication speculates that Lionhead is also chipping away at a proper Fable sequel, due out in 2013.
The rumor should come as no surprise considering Microsoft's dwindling collection of reliable first-party franchises. Once you get past Halo, Gears of War, Forza, and Fable, there isn't much left outside of the strong Xbox Live Arcade exclusives.
Previous entries in the Fable series have advanced the history of Albion from the dark ages to the industrial revolution. Where do you think the next fantasy action role-playing game will take us?
