Escape Plan Announced For PS Vita

Sony announced a new Vita game, Escape Plan, during their Gamescom 2011 press conference today. The unique title looks like a mash-up between A Nightmare Before Christmas and Oddworld.

The game will take full advantage of the handheld's dual analog sticks and front and back touch controls. It sports a classy black and white art style with a bizarre visual flair similar to a a Tim Burton film. It stars two rubbery characters which players must guide through a deadly gantlet. Laarg is the fat one, and Lil is the tiny one. The trailer shows the duo independently making their way through deadly traps like rigged sledgehammers, electricity barriers, grinding cogs, and slicing fan blades. Each death is marked with a gooey explosion, splattering the floor with what looks like ink.

The whole affair looks like a throwback to adventure games like Blackthorn and Flashback, and something Game Informer is looking forward to learning more about.
