Blizzard Hints At Upcoming WoW Content
A mysterious screenshot has shown up on Blizzard's Facebook page. Next patch? Next expansion? You decide.
The screen, shown above, is the only evidence that Blizzard is willing to share. The image is entitled "Glimpses" and the caption on the screenshot reads: "Interesting…"
While Blizzard is being cryptic, it's not hard to make some guesses about the contents of the screenshot. The environment seems to be a repopulated interior to a Stormwind building, implying that perhaps we're seeing some new characters who have a foothold within the Alliance capital.
The figures themselves appear to be members of the Ethereal race, a group that first showed up in the Burning Crusade expansion. Players were able to gain reputation with The Consortium, a subset group of the Ethereals. This new image seems to suggest that the Ethereals will play an important role in an the upcoming 4.3 patch, or even in the next expansion. The Ethereals come from the Twisting Nether -- perhaps players will have increased opportunities to explore that strange and chaotic void in some upcoming content addition. Astute players will also note what appears to be some new vendor types, including the enigmatic Void Storage. Some players have hypothesized Void Storage might allow for some items (like heirlooms) to be more easily accessed by characters on multiple servers.
What do you think Blizzard is up to? Are the developers hinting at some big new change to the world of Azeroth? Or is it all a red herring?
