Former Microsoft Exec Shane Kim Joins GameStop
The video game retailer announced today that Microsoft vet Shane Kim has been appointed to its board of directors.
Kim was heavily involved over the last 15 years with both Xboxes, Xbox Live, and Microsoft's first-party publishing with titles like Halo and Gears of War.
“We are very excited to have Shane join our Board,” said GameStop chairman Dan DeMatteo in a press release. “His broad video game knowledge and business experience will bring valuable insight in supporting the advancement of GameStop’s digital strategy.”
What does this mean for GameStop? Hard to tell, beyond that the company is continuing to invest in digital business after acquiring digital delivery platform Impulse from Stardock earlier this year, as well as other moves like snapping up browser game portal Kongregate.
GameStop is the parent company of Game Informer.
