Jaffe Laments “Backstabbing And Bulls---" In Workplace
The refreshingly candid David Jaffe, creator of Twisted Metal and founder of Eat, Sleep, Play, has stated in the past that some people at Sony don’t “get” the classic car combat series. Today on Twitter the bold developer decried the “backstabbing and bulls---" at the workplace, which may hint at the turbulence surrounding Twisted Metal’s development.
David Jaffe’s four separate Twitter posts combined into one paragraph (censored ):
“Managed to avoid the politics of work life for almost 20 years. I just always focused on the work. Not sure if it's because games are getting so expensive or the economy is so bad that people are more scared- and thus most desperate than ever- to keep their jobs but MAN I've never actually noticed the politics and backstabbing and bulls--- of certain types before until the last 3 months. I will say this: I don't f---ing like it and I choose not to play. Live or die by the work only. The rest is just scared people in the wrong line of work.”
Having sat down and spoken with Jaffe, I can confidently assert that the man is wholeheartedly all about game development. He never spouts even an ounce of PR-speak or dances around tough issues. We at Game Informer are really excited about the new Twisted Metal, and hope this office drama doesn’t impede the promising game’s development.
