Double Fine Goes To Sesame Street At E3

Tim Schafer took the stage at Microsoft's E3 press conference to introduce Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster, Double Fine's Kinect title aimed at young gamers.
To drive home Once Upon A Monster's target audience, the demo featured a father and his son taking on the roles of Elmo and Cookie Monster. The two iconic characters ran into a less adorable monster in a dark forest, and then had to engage in a couple of minigames. First, they did some flailing and growling, and then they played a bug-catching minigame.
Of course, Once Upon A Monster doesn't look revolutionary from a gameplay perspective, but it does look adorable, which goes a long way toward making the game more fun for the adults playing with their kids. Plus, with a skilled studio like Double Fine at the helm, you can probably bet that the gameplay won't be a disaster, unlike many games directed at kids' less-than-exacting standards.
