Weekend Warrior 06/03/11

The Game Informer crew has been busy gearing up for a week of games at E3! While we're heading out to LA on Sunday, we're still looking to squeeze in some time with our favorite games. Find out what we're playing this weekend, then head over to the comments section and tell us your game plan!

Kato: Should be finishing up L.A. Noire this weekend (hopefully). Will also be playing a bunch of NCAA for review at home. It’s always funny when I bring a game to play for work home for the weekend because my declarations to the wife that I have “work to do” always seems a little conspicuous when it involves playing a football game for hours on end on the couch.

Jeff C: As much as I’d like to say that I’ll be sitting around the house playing L.A. Noire, Pinball FX 2, and a whole bunch of other stuff, I can’t lie to you. I’m heading out to L.A. for E3 this weekend, and I have a ton of grown-up house stuff to do before then. ProTip: Don’t get old.

Tim: This weekend I plan on finishing L.A. Noire. I’m nearly done and I really want to finish up all the capers before E3. On the plane I’ve already decided I’ll be playing New Super Mario Bros., Ocarina of Time 3D, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Oh yeah, after that I’ll be playing a bunch of games at E3!

Jeff M: I’m probably not going to play any games weekend – I’ll be too busy getting ready to head to LA for E3! If I do have some free time tomorrow, I might play a case or two in L.A. Noire, or download Infamous, assuming Sony’s Welcome Back program goes smoothly.  

Annette: Flying out to E3 on Sunday with the rest of the Game Informer gang (can't wait!) so I probably won't have as much time for gaming this weekend. I wound up spending last weekend cleaning up leftover Mass Effect 2 DLC, which sucked me right back into the incredible world BioWare created. Made me realize I'm going to be crushed once Mass Effect 3 is over. If I'm not giving Mass Effect 2 another go, I might just engage in a few quick rounds of Chime. Don't really have a whole lot of time this weekend to start playing anything new.

Dan: Tonight I’m gonna see X-Men First Class with Ben Reeves and Ben Hanson. I wasn’t particularly interested in the movie until they told me that January Jones plays Emma Frost. With that, I was on board. Probably some bars after that. Tomorrow, I plan on getting everything I need together for E3, as my plane leaves Sunday. I’d also like to wrap up my time in 1947 Los Angeles before I head to the real thing. I think I’m about done with the vice cases, so it shouldn’t be too long. Once Sunday comes, it’s gonna be non-stop E3 business for a week. Can’t wait.

Ben Hanson: I found out this week that stores don’t sell the full Rock Band bundle anymore, but I was able to track one down on Craigslist for $60 that included all of the instruments and Rock Band 1,2, and The Beatles. I will most likely be icing my thumbs and massaging my swollen kick drum leg the entire weekend. Then on Sunday I will be journeying to LA to experience E3 for the first time in my life. I’ve been devouring every ounce of E3 coverage for the last 10 years, so I can’t wait to see this thing in person. I’m imagining Gene Wilder will give me a song-filled tour before I’m slammed back down to reality by an incomprehensible amount of work.  Have a good weekend!
