What Is Zelda Universe?

Well, as of now it’s simply a website communicating the latest Zelda news to English-speaking fans. However, a recent ESRB rating suggests that it might become something more soon.

As VG247 points out, Nintendo registered Zelda Universe as “online” rather than “console platform,” suggesting that the rating may not be a new console game.

Any number of possibilities surround this rating. It could be a Zelda MMO, a game-augmenting site like Pokémon Global Link tied to Skyward Sword, or simply a Flash game. Whatever it is, I’ve got a hunch we’ll learn more about Zelda Universe at E3.
