Nintendogs + Cats Is First 3DS Game To Go Platinum

Nintendo's earnings report indicates that at least one first-party 3DS title is selling strongly. Not surprisingly, the game in question is Nintendogs + Cats.

The game, which some curmudgeonly reviewers pointed out is basically a re-release of the original Nintendogs with 3D display and a couple new features, didn't exactly innovate in any way but has managed to sell 460,000 units in Japan and 1.25 million in Western territories. That's not too shabby for some mangy mutts and their feline friends.
