Third-Party Portable SNES Releasing This Summer
Hoping for portable SNES games via the 3DS Virtual Console? Looks like SupaBoy has beat Nintendo to the punch. This summer, they'll be releasing the SupaBoy, a handheld Super Nintendo that can play games either on its 3.5" screen or on a TV via composite cables. If played on a TV, you can even use actual SNES controllers thanks to the two ports on its front.
I have the Retro Mini from FC Mobile, and it's essentially the same thing but for NES. It's a fun little novelty, but I've never really taken it around for serious gameplay. With the more substantial games for SNES (and more games with save functions), perhaps the SupaBoy will be a worthwhile purchase. According to manufacturer Hyperkin, it should be available this summer.
