Internal Video Reveals Microsoft's Vision For "Windows Gaming Experience"

Once a year or so, we get some half-hearted new effort from Microsoft to push PC gaming on Windows machines. Internally, though, it looks like the company has a slightly more ambitious plan to tie together the PC experience, Xbox Live, Bing, Avatars, and other Microsoft products and services into an all-around package.

This Microsoft video was discovered and posted by ZDNet. It apparently originates from May 2010 and introduces a next-gen vision for what Microsoft is calling "WGX" or the "Windows Gaming eXperience."

Apparently this plan for the future of PC gaming includes a heavy focus on implementing Avatars into PC games and giving consumers quick and painless access to social and casual games such as Farmville and Bejeweled. Microtransactions also play a big role, from purchasing new clothing for your Avatars to buying guns that you can then bring into a shooter and share with your buddies.

And lest anyone forget, this is a rumored internal video from Microsoft. It is not confirmation that they are immediately moving in the direction of everything seen here. Take it with a grain of salt, please.
