Cthulhu Saves The World is one of those rare Xbox Live Indie Games that has really grabbed our attention with its pitch-perfect emulation of 16-bit RPG style and its bizarre story. Now it's receiving a crazy-titled, content-packed special edition which will also arrive in the form of a free update to players who have already purchased it.

For those who still need to play through the original game, you'll get the chance to do so with rebalanced gameplay, a new unlockable character, and director's commentary. If you've already saved the world as Cthulhu, you can take on the brand new Cthulhu's Angels mode, which tasks a new line-up of characters with unique abilities to saving the world in place of the dread dark god.

Developer Zeboyd Games also promises a cryptic hint at its next game buried somewhere in this new edition, so get ready to pay attention.
