Doom Movie Reboot In The Works?

According to Australian movie blog What’s Playing, Doom may get a second chance on the big screen.

Universal is allegedly shopping around for a script writer as we speak, looking to craft a new film that will ignore the events of the 2005 movie entirely. The only other tidbit of information we’ve got is an intent to shoot the movie in 3D.

If the rumor pans out, Doom will join Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, and more recently Tomb Raider, as game franchises starting clean on the silver screen.

Anyone here actually like what The Rock was cooking in Doom?
