Weekend Warrior 02/25/11

by Annette Gonzalez on Feb 25, 2011 at 01:30 PM

What is the Game Informer crew up to this weekend? Read on to find out then add your own weekend gaming plans to the comments section!

Reiner: King Tutankhamun finally made his way to Minnesota, and I’ll be seeing him at some point this weekend. After looking at his mummified remains for about five to six seconds, I’ll head home to play Bulletstorm co-op for the remainder of the weekend.

Joe: I’m finally getting around to playing Enslaved, which I’m especially interested in checking out now that I know that the developer, Ninja Theory, will be handling the next Devil May Cry. I’m also about halfway through Stacking, so hopefully I’ll be able to polish that off this weekend. Somewhere in there I want to finish my playthrough of Scott Pilgrim with Knives, but that might be getting overly ambitious.

Dan: Definitely wrapping up Bulletstorm’s campaign as my first order of business. Loving the game so far, and I’ll definitely be playing some of the Echoes and Anarchy modes. After that, I might keep moving through Earthbound or dive into Stacking. Then again, I also have You Don’t Know Jack, LittleBigPlanet 2, and my second playthrough of Dead Space 2, so there’s plenty on my plate over the next few days.

Jeff M: I have failed miserably at my goal to finish the original Dead Space the past couple weekends, mainly due to the fact that it is terrifying. However, where would Isaac Clarke be if he just gave up every time he was met with a little adversity? Someplace stupid, that’s where. In addition to continuing Dead Space, I’ll probably play more Words With Friends with my co-workers, spending inordinate amounts of time trying to piece together the highest-scoring insults I can spell with my letters, cuz that’s just how I roll.

Phil:
VIDEO GAMES! Now that I’ve survived another close brush with death in the form of Game Informer deadline week, I’m going to wind down for the weekend by finally cracking open my copies of De Blob 2 and Radiant Historia. If I get bored of swapping back and forth between a big screen platformer and a portable JRPG, I might try to check out the new MMO Rift. Adam tells me you can access Twitter while playing! How could I ask for anything more?

Annette: Aside from prepping for my trip to San Francisco for GDC, I'll be sure to squeeze in some gaming time, which will mostly involve traversing the horrific depths of the Dead Space universe. I'll also break up some of the tension with a bit of Stacking and LittleBigPlanet 2.

Tim:
This weekend I plan to rid Zebes of the space pirate menace and brat Super Metroid. Following that I'll continue my quest in Amnesia: The Dark Descent and hopefully squeeze in some Stacking and Hard Corps: Uprising.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I hope to play more Bad Company 2 on PS3, my friends and I are having a lot of fun with squad death match. I will also be continuing my second playthrough of Mass Effect 1. I convinced myself that I would take the renegade path this time, but my conscience has forced me to make the exact same decisions as my last game. In between planet-hopping the traverse, I will be playing League of Evil for the iPhone while listening to podcasts. It is a great platformer with surprisingly tight controls. Think of it as a $1 portable version of Super Meat Boy.  Enjoy the weekend!

Jeff A: I was, for all intents and purposes, suckered into playing through both Mass Effect 1 and 2 by a few of the guys here at work, thus derailing my progress in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. And while it isn’t the worst punishment imaginable, I worry I’ll never get back to Ezio’s latest journey. Only time will tell I guess. In the mean time, I’ve come to appreciate the many superlative things the first ME does while tolerating the handful of things it’s generally terrible at. It’s a good game and it’s given me high hopes for the sequel. Other than that, I’ve been debating running through either Wind Waker or Twilight Princess seeing how it’s the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series. There probably isn’t a day that goes by in which I don’t think about Zelda in some fashion. Ok, I should stop now...

Sean: I'm going to be playing Bulletstorm and StarCraft II. Thank you and have a nice day, **BRAAAHHHH**.

That's it for us. What are you up to this weekend?
