PSP2 Functionality Reports Leak Out Of Japan

Japanese website Nikkei reports that Sony's handheld sequel will ship later this year with 3G support, no phone functionality, and an OLED touchscreen.

Japanese telcom company NTT DoCoMo is providing the 3G service in Japan; no mention was made of a European or American carrier. According to the report, the handheld uses the 3G connection for online multiplayer and software downloads. It also offers wireless LAN support.

Sony is expected to officially announce the PSP2 on January 27 at a press conference in Tokyo.
