El Shaddai Descends On Japan Spring 2011

Ignition Entertainment’s artful action title El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is slated for an April 28 release in Japan. European and North American dates are to be announced shortly.

“With an immensely talented development team combined with the game's highly inspired action game play and strikingly unique art style, I am proud to deliver this game to gamers all over the world,” said Game Director Sawaki Takeyasu. “I hope you will enjoy the wonderful game experience of El Shaddai.”

To tide you over till more news drops, check out a handful of new screens below. Both El Shaddai’s art direction and story are inspired by biblical mythology, and combined with Takeyasu’s vision (he previously worked as art director on Okami) the visuals are quite a treat.

El Shaddai is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
