Battlefield 1943 Made A Buttload Of Money

by Matt Helgeson on Dec 08, 2010 at 11:58 AM

By "buttload" we mean $16 million, specifically. The game, which was released for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in July of 2009, sold strongly from the start and has EA feeling bullish on digitally distributed products. In the current fiscal year, EA expects digital products to make up 20 percent of the company's revenue.

The $16 million represent the net take EA got from the game, after Microsoft and Sony took their cut of the sale. Not bad for a game that EA says cost "in the single-digit" millions to make.
