Ghostbusters Revived For Downloadable Release

Atari and Sony Pictures are bringing Ghostbusters back from beyond once again, partnering for the downloadable release Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime.

Sanctum of Slime puts players in the jumpsuit of a rookie hired by the original busting team. All characters will be entirely new in Sanctum of Slime – none of the original cast will return via voice or likeness.

Up to four players can use their proton packs to take out various apparitions and abnormalities locally or online. A bigger arsenal will be needed to topple bosses, including the plasma inductor and the fermion shock.

We’re also promised time behind the wheel of the Ecto-3. 

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is in development by Wanako and is scheduled to release on PSN, Xbox Live, and PC spring of 2011.
