Old Republic Crew Skills Revealed

A recent update to the Star Wars MMO site reveals a fascinating new approach to crafting and NPC crew member skills.

Crafting has become an integral part of most recent MMOs, but it's not always the most thrilling part of gameplay. Standing at a forge or workstation can get boring after awhile. BioWare's solution is elegant: make your crew do the work.

In the newest video post on The Old Republic's official site, the new Crew Skills system is described. Players can set tasks for the NPCs that aren't coming on the current mission. While your hero is out having fun with lightsabers and blasters, your crew gets to work on the task you've assigned them.

The best part? They'll keep working even when you're offline.
