Guess Which Game Leads To The Most Break-Ups

by Phil Kollar on Nov 16, 2010 at 02:40 PM

Big news everyone: A survey says that a sizable percentage of gamers are having relationship troubles. Want to take a guess at what franchise is pointed at as bringing an end to the biggest number of relationships? Hint: Its most recent entry rhymes with "Sack Hops."

According to a survey of 1,500 gamers and their partners conducted by One-Poll.com (and reported on by the Daily Mail), half of the "women" whose partners are gamers -- apparently no female gamers were polled? -- are "jealous" over the amount of time their significant other spends playing video games. The study also revealed that one in ten gamers have turned down sex in order to keep playing a game, and four in ten play games every night. That 60% not playing games every night doesn't sound like real gamers at all!

The survey also asked participants to list their choices for the games most likely to lead to relationship problems. This list of 20 was topped by (surprise!) Call of Duty, followed closely by Football Manager (lol Europe), Grand Theft Auto, FIFA, and Medal of Honor. Shockingly, World of Warcraft only ranked number 14. Rounding out the list at number 20? Angry Birds. Alright then.

This study seems totally silly, especially with how gender-specific it is, but I might as well take the opportunity to ask: Have any of you ever had relationship problems pop up because of video games?
