GameStop Reports Record-Breaking Black Ops Pre-Orders

by Matt Bertz on Oct 07, 2010 at 01:20 PM

While announcing a new Call of Duty promotional, GameStop senior vice president of merchandising Bob McKenzie confirmed information that many of us already presumed to be a fact: people are stoked for Black Ops.

"GameStop is tracking to all-time, record reservations on Call of Duty: Black Ops," McKenzie said in a press release. "We are ahead of where we were with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last year, which previously set the industry standard."

As for the Treyarch-related promotional, GameStop is sponsoring a "Surprize Attack" sweepstakes to further drive up pre-order numbers. Once you reserve your copy, you can use the code on your receipt to enter to win prizes like a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Polaris ATV, Harley Davidson motorcycle, fighter pilot experience, ghillie suit, autographed fighter pilot's helmet, or official Black Ops merchandise. Learn more about the sweepstakes here.
